Ben een paar uur thuis en inene begint het toch te regenen! Echt regenen zoals dat alleen in Thailand kan! Werkelijk ongelovelijk hard. Vele planten in de tuin kunnen er slecht tegen. Ze hangen er allemaal maar wat bij.
Noo Dang is onderweg naar huis en zit muurvast in de Bangkokiaanse file. File is er altijd maar in de regen in de spits….. Da’s pas een feest. Echt iets om een keer mee te maken 
Ik heb gisteren voor het eerst in mijn leven en voor het eerst in Bangkok een verkeersboete gekregen. Ik reed namelijk te hard. Ik was op de tolweg onderweg naar Nonthaburi vanuit mijn werk en werd gesignaleerd. Bij de tolpoortjes werd ik na betalen van de 40 Baht entree door een agent verzocht naar het kleine politiebureau aan de zijkant te rijden. “Tammai kap reo reo khrap?” Waarom reed u zo hard. Tja 132 per uur was daar ook wel wat te snel. Bij 
het bureau moest ik buiten aan een tafeltje mijn Thaise rijbewijs laten zien. er werd een formulier ingevuld waarmee ik naar binnen kon. Aldaar moest ik een boete van 500 Baht ofwel 10 Euro betalen. Daarvoor kreeg ik een bon waarop de overteding plus boete werd aangegeven. Hiermee kon ik buiten weer mijn rijbewijs ophalen en mijn reis 500 Baht lichter vervolgen. Een schijntje vergelijken met een boete in Nederland, maar ik baalde er toch wel van. Altijd hetzelfde, als ik een overtreding bega dan word ik meteen opgepakt. Dit was namelijk mijn eerst snelheidsoverteding ooit!! Nou ja de volgende keer maar wat rustiger aan. Dat scheelt weer een paar biertjes Chang nietwaar?
Mijn eerste serieuze poging een artikel uit de Thaise Thai Rath om te zetten in het Nederlands. Voorlopig eerst even een Engelse vertaling. Nog veel te leren :

Ben weer online dames en heren. En FTP doet het ook weer. De Noorse router er tussenuit gegooit en via de modem via PPPOE het internet opgegaan. Hopelijk een vast ip adres in mijn nieuwe woning zodat ik een dedicated server kan opzetten zonder lid te zijn van dynamic dns of zo. Even kijken of dat goedkoop bij True kan inclusief hun wireless pakket. Ze hebben een adsl pakket van 2 MB + wireless voor zo’n 1100 Baht. Dat is heel redelijk. Zeker aangezien ik dan overal in Bangkok draadloos het web op kan.
Morgen schaf ik waarschijnlijk een nieuwe router aan. Een drie-in-een (modem, router incl dhcp en wifi). Syslink, Billion of Dlink wordt het merk. Het ligt nog een beetje aan het prijskaartje. We zien wel wat Big C, de True winkel of Pantip te bieden hebben. Vandaag blijf ik even thuis. Noo Dang is een Chao Praya rivier tour aan het doen en heb ik dus even tijd om wat webdesign te doen en te werken aan wat outlines.
Heb twee dagen lang een groot probleem. Ik kan namelijk via Filezilla FTP cliënt geen flv bestand van 7mb uploaden naar een server in Nederland vanuit mijn Thaise locatie. Zelfs een kleiner bestand lukt niet. Ik maak gebruik van True Internet. Een technicus zal later vandaag later langskomen om te kijken wat het is. Als het mijn Jensen Broadband II router is zal ik hem a.s.a.p. vervangen. Maar de afgelopen twee jaar had ik geen problemen dus waarom nu wel? Ik krijg steeds een error writing 2 socket:

Ben vandaag dan eindelijke van directory veranderd. Geen /wordpress meer, maar nu /log. Ik moest de map aanpassen, in settings of instellingen mijn pad naar mijn Wordpress map aanpassen en de Wordpress .htaccess wijzigen. Waarschijnlijk zo ook minder spam en het staat mooier. Daarnaast heb ik heb via endgamepr.com een uitstekende tip gekregen om bezoekers die naar de oude link gaan toch op de juiste plek te krijgen. In de .htaccess in de root heb ik een redirect aangemaakt zodat die allemaal netjes worden doorgestuurd naar de nieuwe locatie. Werkelijk top! Nu misschien nog even mijn blog upgraden naar 2.5.1…
Vandaag en gisteren een zeer trage internationale internet verbinding gehad hier in Thailand. Het was erg lastig om een klant van mij vandaag te helpen. Ook was het lastig om op mijn blog te komen. Maar dat is zoals je ziet uiteindelijk wel gelukt. Zelfs met belabberde snelheden.
Zelfs nationaal niet een al te beste. Ik probeer al een hele tijd wat Ubuntu packages te downloaden van de Thaise server. En dat gaat ook erg traag. Eerst dacht ik het dat het aan mijn draadloze verbining lag. Was het niet. Toen mijn adsl verbinding. Was het ook niet. Toen mijn Ubuntu wireless instellingen. Neen, CAT Telecom heeft het verpest. Daar kwam ik achter toen ik True Internet belde om te klagen. Ze schijnen aanpassigen aan het doorvoeren of zoHopelijk wordt het probleem snel opgelost.
Nou ja ik heb vandaag toch niet veel tijd aangezien ik Visakha Bucha dag ga vieren en zal lunchen met Doede en Ayse rond twaalven in Bankapi, Bangkok. We gaan waarschijnlijk naar Seacon Square. Een winkelcentrum aldaar. En belangrijker nog, niet ver van Suvarnabhumi Airport. Happy Visakha Bucha day!!
Noppadon Pattama de minister van Buitenlandse zaken van Thailand heeft het hoofd van legal affairs van zijn ministerie ontslagen. Velen zeggen dat hij dit deed aangezien de directeur van legal affairs niet de documenten ten aanzien van de rechteszaak tegen Thaksin, voormalig Eerste Minister, over de corruptie in de aanschaf van CTX scanners voor de nieuwe internationale luchthaven, wilde geven. Juridische gezien had hij daar echter groot gelijk in. Noppadon was de voormalige advocaat van Thaksin Shinawatra en heeft of had in ieder geval een duidelijke band met hem. De AEC heeft de zaak nu aangeklaagd bij de rechtbank en we zullen binnenkort zien of deze en andere zaken tegen de voormalige Premier worden geaccepteerd.
Vele anderen begrijpen in ieder geval niet waarom het gebeurd is met zo’n uitstekend functionerende bureaucraat die van vitaal belang was voor de onderhandelingen met Cambodia over een dispuut t.a.v. een eiland. Ik zelf ook niet om eerlijk te zijn. De geruchten over ontslag vanwege geen medewerking verlenen in hte afgeven van document tegen een voormalige client lijkt mij een niet totaal onwaarschijnlijke theorie.
Net een e-mail van de Kasikorn Bank gehad. Vanaf nu kan ik online direct geld overmaken naar 7 andere Thaise banken. Dit zijn onder anderen de Ayathaya Bank, Krungthai Bank, Bangkok Bank en Siam Commercial Bank. Better late then never 
!!!
Aangezien ik mijn inlog codes kwijt ben zal ik binnenkort even langs gaan om die weer opnieuw aan te vragen. Zodat ik hier gebruik van kan maken. Mijn Ayuthaya Bank heeft mijn bankpas geblokkeerd en ik moet nog twee weken wachten om een nieuwe geavanceerdere!! Hadden ze niet even kunnnen wachten? En verder helemaal geen uitleg gehad van ze. Werkelijk ongelovelijk.
Ben al een aardige tijd bezig met een nieuw Wordpress thema voor een client van mij. De lay-out is redelijk ok nu. Dat duurde even, maar daar ben ik zeer tevreden over. Echter het javascript van de oude site, die bewegende afbeeldingen genereert, genereert op het moment helemaal niets. In Internet Explorer 7 zie ik wel wat bewegen, maar geen afbeeldingen. In FireFox 3 Beta 5 zie ik ze helemaal niets. Nu weet ik wel dat ik de z-index van de verschillende dividers niet goed heb geregeld, maar ik zou toch in ieder geval bewegende beelden moet hebben.
Het script wordt extern ingeladen en zou moeten werken aangezien er geen errors ontstaan. Errors of niet er is niets te zien!! Erg vreemd. Daarnaast worden mijn NextGen Gallery afbeeldingen in een rijtje afgebeeld terwijl ik ze graag als een blok wil afbeelden. Dit zal waarschijnlijk aan de stylesheet van mijn theme liggen. Daar ga ik zo naar kijken.
Als iemand ervaring heeft met een van beide problemen dan hoor ik graag tips.
